In 2019, the rate of suicide will be rapidly high in
Nigeria. This is because a lot of Nigerians with zeal and ambitions are
frustrated by the people whom they look up to.
The suicide will not rank among the illiterates but the
literates, as graduates will be more prone to suicide.
Nigeria, might maintain a steady first position in suicide
ranking in Africa. A lot of people have pass through serious depression this
year to the point they felt hopeless and worthless. To some of them, they are
still struggling to battle the depression and it keeps coming "on and off"
in frequency.
Depression is so serious that one doesn't fear death anymore but feels
imaginary relief if he or she dies.
Parents should do more by reducing the pressure on their
children. Marriage pressure and job pressure should be reduced as these people
are already aware of their need for job or marriage. Constant reminding them
and nagging might make them lose sense of belonging. Where there is constant
love with good sense of belonging, depression can't survive in such
environment.
For the lovers, love isn't a crime and nobody is stupid in
loving you neither is the person weak or a fool. Treat the person that loves
you genuinely with love and respect. Driving them to the state of depression as
a result of your incessant emotional abuse/torture on the person who is
constantly suffering the pains might lead him or her to depression, ideation of
suicide and then suicide. It is not everyone that can walk away from what they
love because at that point they have given you all they have. Don't feel proud
and happy that he or she is crying or in torture because of you, but feel
ashamed that you are responsible for it. True love is very scarce to the point
that most people question its existence so if you have one, show love and
respect.
If you wanna break up with someone that is too emotional,
please do it with conscience, respect and love. That they are not aware of your
intentions, but your break up is within you. It is not every time you have to
tell somebody "it is over". It is not everyone that can manage pains.
{Remember, this is only in situation you are dating a "too emotional"
person who can immediately be down with depression}.
If everybody is treated with love and respect, there would
be less depression and no ideation of suicide.
